Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16 March 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. After appearing in bit parts on a number of Irish and British television series from 2009 Bea started her professional career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. She was already regularly performing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. The actress began to appear regularly on panel shows after winning an award from The Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team from 2016 to 2017 and was a regular contestant in its spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian O'Sullivan, and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is her younger sister. She was the winner of the So You Think You're Funny Award twice. She uses the surnamed Bea to pay tribute to her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born the 16th of March, 1984, in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet who took his own life when she was just three. Bea didn't learn how her father died until after she reached the age of thirteen. Bea chose to stage her name Bea in honor of her father who passed away. She also wrote an article for The Guardian on her family's death experience. Bea (and her sister Sinead) was raised in a home by Helen Moloney, who was a school educator and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. Their family was fascinated by racing meetings and horses. Bea was a guide at the Irish National Stud in her early years. But she was aware that it wasn't what she wanted to be as a profession and preferred to perform.
