Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. He is the father of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. The father of Manny James is Nigerian and his mother caucasian American. In 2010, James graduated of Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in economics in 2015. James gained fame when he made his on-screen debut as an on-screen reality TV star for The Bachelorette. James was selected as the new bachelor on The Bachelor season 25, making him the first African American male star. The season premiered later that year. James seemed to be the perfect choice for the role because he is handsome well-rounded tall and has a good sense of humor. Rachael Krkconnell was selected as James' partner for this season. In the season thirty (in 2021) of Dancing with the Stars, James competed alongside dancer Arnold. James and Arnold came in 12th place.
